Matchbox: The Movie is barely about Matchbox cars. It ends up being a little bit of Fast and the Furious and a little bit of True Lies meets Grosse Pointe Blank with a small (tiny) pinch of The Road Warrior–but never as good as any one of those films were. It’s also full of the self-referential "wow, that just happened" style humor, and characters that are overused tropes.
